Finally, I have been asked if I think Israel will survive. Yes. Definitely yes! Jews throughout history have recognized tyranny for what it is and have refused to be intimidated. Somehow, in the most dangerous region on the planet, Israel has created a society of freedom, order, and innovation…..a democracy. Israel is not perfect….God knows. But today’s Israel is doing what Jews have always done….create freedom without anarchy and order without tyranny.
Israelis know there is no need for chaos and terror. Innocent lives don’t have to be lost. Palestinian children would have a bright future if their parents would make the same choice Israeli parents did. Moses’ words were never more powerful or relevant: “Choose life so that your children may live.” Yes, Israel will survive because we would rather have a State of Israel with the world’s condemnation than no State of Israel with the world’s sympathy.
“You brought us, oh God, and we returned. Help us to renew our days as of old.” -Lamentations 5:21
