Facts and Opinions From a US Citizen

The Afghan exit was the greatest airlift in history. The border is secure. Hunter
never discussed business with Joe. Inflation is transitory. The purpose of CRT is to
correct historic lies and expose the truth. Hmmm, I could end here, but as my favorite journalist of all time Paul Harvey used to say “Now you’re going to hear the rest of the story.” For any “theory” to be credible, their facts must 1st be correct. If not, it can’t be taken seriously.

So……CRT (and several media outlets) claim they don’t know what the big deal is. It’s not even being taught in grades K-12. Hmmm, really? How come millions of dollars are being spent on instructional videos (produced by AG Garland’s son-in-law)?

How come the FBI was mobilized to surveil parents who complained about something that wasn’t being taught? Why would states like Iowa, Florida, Texas, Oklahoma, Tennessee, and Virginia find it necessary to pass laws prohibiting something that’s not being taught. Books like “Not My Idea,” which states “Whiteness lends white people to make deals with the devil,” is part of the curriculum in 30 public school systems and 15 states. Why shouldn’t our youth be taught that? Not convinced? Go to denshow.org-CRT tools- lesson plans for teachers.

Not even West Point is immune. A group of distinguished grads recently wrote a
“Policy Proposal: An Anti-Racist West Point.” It is a 40 page document accusing
West Point of a racist environment and curriculum. It charges that West Point
“ultimately fails to produce leaders of character…(thus) failing to accomplish its
mission.”
Sure, it’s much more important for our future military leaders to be
taught diversity and correct pronouns than military strategy.

CRT dates the beginning of America as 1619 (1619 Project), the year, they say, slaves were 1st delivered to our shore. Problem: in 1619, approximately 2 dozen slaves were brought here. However, those already here were Quakers, who didn’t believe in slavery. They became indentured servants. Most were free in 5 years. Some actually became slave owners themselves.

In 1775, the Brits announced that any slave who fought for the Crown would be
freed after the war. CRT claims this helped ignite the Revolution and motivated George Washington to militarize. Problem: The Proclamation was announced in November. GW assumed command in June. Also, the colonists made the same promise, that if any slave fought for them, they would earn their freedom. BTW, 1000s of slaves were indeed given their freedom…..Oops! Did the Revolution end slavery? Of course not. But neither was it central to independence.

CRT’s core claim, however, is that America was founded by callous, white, male,
racist, slave owners who fought a Revolution to protect their lifestyle and wrote a
Constitution to preserve it. Those motives and principles created a system that is, today, rigged against minorities. The fact is America was not founded to protect slavery, nor was the Constitution written to preserve it. A more accurate and complete understanding of our past, explained in context, will prove this.

More in Part 3……………..stay tuned
