Kamala and many other Dems have criticized Trump for killing the alleged “bipartisan secure border bill.” He killed it because he is “not interested in solutions.” Hmmm, really?
First of all, I don’t think Kamala or any of her staff has even read the bill but that didn’t stop her from declaring, “It was the strongest border bill in history.” I’m not sure what’s worse….that they did or didn’t read it.
I’m a little surprised that JD didn’t take the opportunity to crush the bill at the
debate. So, let’s you and I take a look.
The one item that seems to have been the most controversial is the 5,000 quota/ day (that’s 1.8 million/yr) before the border will be secured. Besides setting a LEGAL floor for ILLEGAL admissions, I didn’t know they could secure the border.
But….if they can, why not do it at zero entries? Also, those let in are granted amnesty and citizenship. In 5 years they are social security-eligible voters. This is nothing less than a govt sponsored invasion. It codifies the parole policy now in force. That’s the act of flying in supposedly vetted aliens into small, unidentified cities (not included in border crossing
stats)…..so far 300-400,000. The increased # of border agents are for processing purposes only….no arrests. Catch and release is promoted from policy to law.
So far this sounds like an amnesty bill, not a border security bill. It gets worse. Illegals are required to be given work permits and taxpayer funded lawyers. It also gives the DHS Secy and the Pres the authority to change or cancel any provision. Another little tidbit that went unnoticed was the voting. Ultimately, Dems like Liz Warren, Markey, Padilla, Menendez, Booker, and BERNIE SANDERS joined 45 Reps and voted against it. I promise you no Dem took a call from Trump to sway his vote. Even James Lankford, the Rep author, ultimate voted against it. Sounds like bipartisan opposition to me.
Finally, this was a bill that would never become law. But if it did it would have been challenged on Constitutional grounds.
