I can’t explain this. Clearly there are two sides to every story. The Jews and Palestinians are amongst the two most historically oppressed people in the history of time. People need to put themselves in both people’s shoes and understand their plights. None of us can truly understand what it means to be in their shoes unless we go and live in amongst them and see the conditions they live in.
In the 1940’s many argued that the conditions of the ghettos in which jews were living in were not all that bad….this was clearly a not the accurate. All humans want the same things. They want their children to be safe, live in peace, grow up, get an education, get married, and have the freedom and ability to prosper. We need to beware of those who use elements of hatred and cultural racism to justify their actions (on both sides). This kind of dialogue was the basis for the ascent of the third reich and nazi fascism. The Israelis and Palestinians are more genetically similar than nearly any other two groups. They have the same ancestors. Both people deserve their land, their freedom and their autonomy.
Killing of civilians and especially women and children is never ever justified no matter what the cause–this applies to both sides. You can’t kill another group’s civilians in order to prevent the other group from killing your civilians in the future. People who lose loved ones (daughters, sons, wives) will never forget and the vicious cycle renews. I’m not very hopeful in the leadership on either side with respect to the prospects of peace. Since Rabin was assassinated, opportunities were lost. People need to think about what future they want as opposed to what past they’ve had and both groups need to make major concessions for the sake of their children’s futures. –ST
The war in Gaza, or between the Palestinians and Jews is a distraction. Zionism is not the answer to antisemitism rather it is the fuel for its spread. Not because Israeli’s should not protect their sovereignty but because it just is. Let’s look at a jail example.
What is commonly said about how not to get fk’d with? You identify the biggest badass and you fk them up. Even when you lose you win. That is what Jews did when forming Israel (Bully = England – USA). You do not find the runt of the litter and slowly but consistently pick on them (Runt – Palestinians).
1.2 billion muslims, 12 million jews! If this is M vs J it is already game over…instead (Put them together = MJ). Out of the 1,200 million…1,150 million are moderates and do not have any specific anti- semitism (yet), they are however, each and everyone sympathizers of the life or the lack there of, of the Palestinian people. Unfortunately for Israeli’s and Jews as a whole, they cannot simply turn the other cheek and welcome the Palestinians – share land and expect happiness ever after. This is not about the Palestinian’s and Jews, or the Gaza – There are powers at play that will continue to squeeze Jews and Israel. Today Israel pretends to have power (over the weakest enemy). And while it is a good distraction for Jews hiding out everywhere else in the world it will not last. Jews do not need a state. They need an international right of protection (like an endangered species). -ER
