X’ed the Line

Regardless of how unhappy I am with the 2020 election, unity Joe is my president and I was hoping for the best. I had the same hopes for Obama. It took several months for me to make up my mind about him. 17 days into his tenure, I am done with unity Joe. 

I am, without apology, a fierce supporter of Israel. I don’t hide it. Even a cursory review of past articles will reveal as much. If any candidate, regardless of party, wants my vote, he/she must be pro-Israel. If he/she is, I will listen to any other position he/she has. If not, it doesn’t matter what other positions he/she has. Not interested. That’s just me. 

Unity Joe has signed a record # of Executive Orders (EOs) in his first 17 days. Most of them are counterproductive. They cross the spectrum of issues: green, immigration, healthcare, energy, jobs, taxes, student debt, stimulus, and sports. Many of them will be challenged in court……..so, wait and see, but the list of voters he is offending is growing daily. However, there are 2 EOs that, thus far, have gone under the radar. They are foreign policy decisions that are so bad they will have tragic, even catastrophic, results. 

1^st. The Houthis will no longer be designated a terrorist group. As such, they can receive US aid.  So what? Who are they and why is this important? The Houthis ARE a terrorist group in Yemen, supported by Iran. According to Secretary of State Blinken: the “decision has nothing to do with our view of the Houthis and their reprehensible conduct, including attacks against civilians and the KIDNAPPING OF AMERICAN CITIZENS…Reversing the decision…will save lives.” Is this Blinken or Rod Serling?? Am I in the US or in the twilight zone? Sounds stupid and naïve, but why be so concerned? Iran already has satellites in Gaza and Lebanon. When they control Yemen, they will almost completely surround Saudi Arabia. My opinion is their primary target is NOT Israel, but Saudi Arabia. This is a religious, Shiite/Sunni thing. The two most important cities in Islam, Mecca and Medina, are there. Iran is praising the decision.I admit that Saudi Arabia is a difficult ally……but also dependable. Attack them and…..well….you know the rest.

2^nd. The Palestinians, during the Trump administration, had a policy of “pay for slay.” Palestinian families would be rewarded with a pension for any member that would kill Israelis and die in the act. Trump warned them to cease or the $200 million in aid would be stopped. The PLO called it “cheap political blackmail.” “The Palestinian people and leadership will not be intimidated and will not succumb to coercion.” Trump stopped the aid. The other day unity Joe re-instated it. The reason as stated by UN Ambassador Richard Mills: “…remains the best way to ensure Israel’s future as a democratic and Jewish state…” So, rewarding those who murder its civilians is somehow in Israel’s best interest. I’m still in the twilight zone. 

For me, these are beyond unacceptable. They signal a new, but familiar, attitude in the Middle East. Anti-Israel, absolutely. Pro-Iran, completely. Likely to interfere with the burgeoning peace in the region, certainly. Hmmm, sure looks like a return to the Obama policies (Please see a previous article “Israel…Again”).  That’s only the beginning.

Let me make one thing clear. Unity Joe, et al, don’t brief me when international policy decisions are made. So, in my opinion, these are precursors to re-opening negotiations with Iran. I believe Iran has set pre-conditions to coming back to the table and unity Joe is already surrendering.  Are there more? Perhaps. But reviving the Iran Deal, negotiated by Kerry and sanctioned by Obama/Biden, will hasten Iranian nuclear development, quickly destabilize the region, and lead to nuclear proliferation in the Middle East. This begs the question who’s calling the shots? And why so quickly? Again, my opinion……………………Obama! Think about it. Most of Biden’s advisors and cabinet are Obama returnees. Most of the EOs are things Obama tried to do, but couldn’t get done. The Dems own Congress. Biden could call Nancy and Chuck to get bills passed into law. Much higher bar. Much more difficult to challenge in court. But it takes time! Biden will be permitted to remain President as long as he is a “useful idiot.” When, not if, he loses his value, he will “reluctantly” resign citing health reasons (code for dementia) &/or family reasons (code for Hunter).

Rarely do last chances come with warnings. We are fortunate. They are telling us what they are doing…..censor dissent, fuel hate, protect unity Joe. Are we listening? We will find out in November 2022.
