Facts and Opinions From a US Citizen

The containment statement (like most things) is being used out of context. Obama’s statement about the containment was in reference to their acquisition of additional physical territory.

“In addition to killing more terrorists than all other presidents combined….”

To think that Obama or the U.S. intelligence apparatus can control who the European Union allows in and out (especially of the border free zone) shows a gross misunderstanding of the issue itself. Our president has been attacking Isis for years and is singlehandedly responsible for the near annihilation of Al Queda. Deploying a large scale US force into the Middle East again without a transition plan to governance is exactly how we got into this mess via George W. And why Isis was able to take hold. I would also caution against targeting a religious group as a whole and holding them responsible. That was done before in Europe, it was called the Holocaust.

Terrorists should be targeted and destroyed, but blaming all followers of a religion is also extraordinarily dangerous mental territory for you to be treading. Further, of course he called it terrorism. Did you not listen to his statement saying that it was not an attack on France, but on humanity? We didn’t prematurely pull out. George W signed a status of forces agreement agreeing to pull all troops out. Prior to that deadline, Obama told the Iraqi government he believed they should keep a residual force in the country of between 15-30k. The Iraqis said it was politically untenable – get your troops out.

As to the line in the sand, if you would remember correctly Obama said he did cross a line while at the same time the Republicans in congress started crying saying Obama can’t do anything without consulting us first. He went on national television, saying it’s within my presidential authority to react but congress has asked to be consulted. Congress consequently put it to a vote and voters NOT to respond. Those are the facts. In addition to killing more terrorists than all other presidents combined…. Here are a few quick notes — yet of course no one will believe it, because we’re sadly at a point in this country where no one really pays attention to the truth.

1. Done more for gay rights than any other president in history

2. Ordered the killing of Osama bin Ladin

3. Saved the American auto industry

4. Been a strong advocate for combating climate change

5. Pushed the US more toward green forms of energy than any president before him

6. Been a strong advocate for pay equality for women

7. Passed historic credit card reform

8. Brokered a historic nuclear deal with Iran

9. Championed health care reform that’s provided health care to millions of Americans, dropping the uninsured rate to a historic low of 11.9 percent.

The above was written by a die-hard liberal. Here’s the response from Dr. Gary Newman:

There are few things more fun or more frustrating than a die-hard liberal. First, his statement about “containment” is correct. The President was referring to territorial containment. You can argue the truth of that, but the point is it was embarrassing to use that word 9 hrs before the Paris attack.

Here’s where the fun starts. “Our President has been attacking ISIS for years and is singlehandedly responsible for the near annihilation of Al Qaida.” Hmmm, really? OK, just a few questions: Why does it take years to “contain” an enemy in the desert? I mean, where can they hide? IT’S THE DESERT!! France is bombing ammo depots. After years of bombing, why are they still standing? Why are supply lines still open? They make approximately $50 million/mo on the transport and sale of oil. Personally, I would love to know exactly what we are bombing to achieve this miraculous “containment.” Oh yes, I’m sure Al Qaida will be very disappointed to learn they have been “nearly annihilated.” Hmmm.

Here’s what I find frustrating when you’re dealing with liberals who wear blinders. After 7 years, everything is still George W’s fault. Their unwillingness to accept responsibility for anything is frustrating. Let me be as clear as possible. GW IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ISIS. GW IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ISIS. The truth is Obama did not have the ability, respect, or prestige to get a status of forces agreement form Iraq. American troops left. Obama continued his policy of winning by leaving. What was left was chaos and a vacuum of power. Fertile ground for the growth of radical groups. Poof, ISIS. It’s Impossible to make a case for the growth of ISIS with 50,000 American troops present. Never gonna happen.

Liberals will just have to live with fact that GW won the war (as ill-advised as it was) but Obama lost the peace. The next part I don’t understand.

The Holocaust was specifically a German, political, final solution, not European. Also, who is blaming all Muslims? I’ve never said, or even heard that. President candidates, Rep and Dem, are also very careful to make clear all Muslims are not the problem. Lastly, Obama has many names for what he should call “Radical Islamic Terrorism:” violent extremism, an overseas contingency operation, man-caused disasters. And, of course, the best was yesterday in Turkey. The President of France called the Paris incident “an act of war.” the American President called it “a setback.”

Don’t ya just love it? Got to admit the guy’s got class. He’s also incompetent, arrogant, and delusional. O But you can’t have everything.
